Living Wage Advocates Rally The Commercial Appeal - March 13, 2008 Local and national champions of living wage campaigns will join forces here today with a 7 p.m. rally to kick off a 24-hour fast in support of wage increases affecting contract workers in
Memphis and minimum wage workers nationally.
Minimum Wage Up a Little but Still Not a Living
The Commercial Appeal- July 24, 2007 The minimum wage
has finally been raised from $5.15 an hour an hour to $5.85.
Although the change was made, the minimum wage is still not substantial
enough to lift people out of poverty.

passed by the Shelby County Commission which will help meet the basic need of families. Workers will be
