  As socially conscious citizens, it is important to support workers’ rights not
  just through word of mouth and advocacy, but also through being responsible
  consumers. The following product guide was updated in November 2009 by
  Workers Interfaith Network.

  All of the products listed are either union-made or fair trade certified. Though
  union representation is not an absolute guarantee a worker is treated justly,
  unions make it far more likely that workers have a voice in work place policies,
  and union workers generally have health insurance, receive a living wage and
  have a safer working environment. Many of the union products listed in this
  guide are made locally here in the Mid-South. For additional union-made products,
  visit the AFL-CIO Union Label and Service Trades Department.

  There are also a number of fair trade certified products listed, which are made
  through equitable partnerships between artisans in other countries and wholesalers
  in the United States. For additional fair trade certified products, visit the
  Fair Trade Federation.

  At the end of this guide is a list of products and services that workers ask you
  to boycott because of these companies violations of workers’ rights. We also
  include a list of businesses to contact to express your concern over their unjust
  business practices, although an official boycott of these companies has not been
  declared by workers.
